Sound

So i have been thinking about chapter 6 over the weekend. I find it so interesting reading about how certain aspects of film were created, and how it compares to what we have today. That seems to be my mindset as I'm reading through the chapters. In regards to chapter 6 its wild how cinemas during the silent film era actually had live musicians playing to accompany the film, which sometimes would consist of a 75-piece orchestra!

And then Edison had his kinetophone, which did not work well at all, inspired progress to what we have now. I have to say i love being in a theater for a nice action/war movie and the whole theater is shaking from the speakers, however it would be so cool to go back in time and experience a film with live musicians playing.

Another part of this chapter that was new to me was finding out AT&T was responsible for fixing the technical flaws in film sound. I mentioned this as well in the discussion board for last week, but i just found it funny because i just switched my phone plan to AT&T the week i read that!
